The Guardian Standard Newsletter- January 2020

January 2020

We wish everyone a prosperous 2020 and look forward to continuing to serve as your objective fiduciary and advocate. Later this year, we will be voting for our next President, and encourage everyone to register and vote. In our ongoing commitment to “Preserving Your Assets and Protecting Your Lifestyle”, we will continue to communicate with you through our Guardian Standard Monthly Newsletter, and our regular investment reviews and financial plan reviews. Should you have any questions that arise during your daily life, please do not hesitate to call or email us.  Our success is measured by your success as a client and friend of the GFP family.  In our January 2020 Guardian Standard we look back at 2019 and share our key observations from the year, and what to expect in 2020, and we continue our “This Is Life” series.

Market Commentary: 8 Key Takeaways

Our portfolios generated strong returns for 2019, a bullish year for nearly all financial markets. The positive broad-based returns marked a dramatic (and welcome) turnaround from 2018, a year in which nearly all asset classes faltered. Please click the link below to view our 8 Key Takeaways for the fourth quarter and some thoughts we have as we look ahead to 2020. As always if you would like to review your portfolio, please contact us. Please click here to view the article.

This is Life

So…….what are your New Year’s resolutions? A healthier diet? A new commitment to exercising on a regular basis? A family vacation? A new car? These are all lifestyle decisions, and as a committed advocate for you and your family’s well-being, we would love to hear about some of your resolutions for the year. Drop us a note or give us a call on what you plan to do in 2020. In beginning this process, I thought it might be fun to share two of my goals for 2020 as “my” life happens. I am focused on more exercise and healthier eating. Exercise for me has taken the form of stationary cycling and weight lifting at home. Dieting is a commitment to the UCI Healthy Choice program! I have realized as I have gotten older that simple achievable steps are the best path towards success in any endeavor. One of the best ways of meeting goals, in my humble opinion, is to make them  “public” and hold yourself accountable.  As I began writing this paragraph, I realized it might be fun for you to do the same. So…. send us a note on what you plan to do……. ; )

I have read and listened to a book called “Younger Next Year” by Chris Crowley. For anyone interested in making a change in their diet and exercising, this book has a very different approach. It may not be for everyone, but for those looking for a little different approach….you might enjoy the read or having something to listen to when you are driving…..

But let’s not limit ourselves to simply diet and exercise. Any goals you wish to share, please let us know! Any changes or updates to the plan we have written for you? Our financial planning checklist can help you identify any areas you wish to discuss with us. It’s simple and easy to complete. Take a moment to select the topics important to you, and email “your” list to us. We will be sure to follow up and discuss how we can help you achieve your goals. Click here to view the checklist.

The GFP Strategic Alliance Program: A Way of Giving Back and Helping Clients

One of our core values as a firm is the importance of always helping other people prosper and experience success in the lives they lead. Through working with you and other clients, we realize there are many different views of what prosperity and success mean.  It could be making a donation to your community or favorite charity or it might be helping friends and family. While it is always great to help a friend or give to one’s favorite cause, sometimes the reality of life is one needs to look after oneself.

In our journey from wirehouse advisors to becoming a Registered Investment Advisor, we realized a program traditionally limited to only CPAs, Attorneys, and Small Regional Banks could become a potential solution to helping us meet these core values for our clients and friends.

GFP’s Strategic Alliance Program allows clients to benefit from introducing potential clients to our firm. If your introduction becomes a client, you will receive a portion of their asset management fee on an ongoing basis. It is up to you to determine how you direct GFP to apply the credit. You can choose to share your credit with your favorite charity or apply it towards reducing your referral’s asset management fees or simply receive it on a quarterly basis as a source of additional income to help you in your working and retirement years.

We appreciate the trust and confidence you have placed in our firm. We hope you consider the GFP Strategic Alliance Program. If you are interested in learning more about our program and its intent, please click on the link below and review the attached material or simply click on my calendar link and schedule a few minutes to speak with me. Let’s do everything we can to help our friends, community, favorite charity, or our success in work and retirement. Click here to view The Strategic Alliance Brochure.
